The electrical engineering department of IIT-K and IETE (Kanpur centre) organised a workshop on cloud computing at the institute on Sunday.
The students and faculty members from different engineering colleges, including Hartcourt Butler Technological Institute and Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped took part in it.
The students were told that with the help of cloud computing, a comman man can access his data files from any place. With the help of cloud computing, there is no need to purchase software, instead data can be accessed directly on internet.
The chief guest was A Joshi, acting head of electrical engineering department.The speakers were TV Prabhakar and Amitabha Roy of IIT-K, Ashish Agarwal and Johnson Whiteford of electrical engineering department of IIT-K. Associate professor Narendra Kohli of HBTI, who is also the chairman of IETE (Kanpur Centre), was also present.
