IBM has built a cloud-based computing infrastructure to house KPJ Healthcare Berhad‘s medical records and administrative data from at least 20 hospitals in Malaysia and five overseas medical facilities.

IBM Develops Cloud Infrastructure for Malaysian Healthcare Provider

The healthcare provider aims to consolidate and centralize its information technology infrastructure in order to connect with other services across the network, IBM said Monday.

“By moving our IT infrastructure to the cloud, we are able to centrally deliver IT services to the hospitals nationwide,” said Tuan Haji Amiruddin Abdul Satar, president and managing director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad.

KPJ Healthcare Berhad also intends to roll out new applications at current and future hospitals through a centralized, cloud-based IT setup.

IBM will also implement a disaster recovery system to protect the data in the cloud.
