What’s good for the Apple is good for the Android, as Facebook announced that it extended its single-sign-on and deep-linking options to Android devices, following its move in February to do the same for iOS devices like the iPad and iPhone.

Social application discovery will allow users of Android devices to discover apps directly via Facebook, through social channels such as requests, bookmarks, and the news feed. Its availability was enabled by Facebook’s Android update last week.

Developers that enable SSO for their apps can ensure that they are included in Facebook’s mobile news feed, timeline, requests, bookmarks, and search.

And deep linking allows developers to direct users to specific pages within their apps, instead of a landing page.

In a post on the Facebook developer blog, the social network touted the increased visits to iOS apps such as Pinterest, BranchOut, Diamond Dash, and Words with Friends following the launch of social app discovery for Apple devices.

The post also offered developers links to documentation on Android native linking, a tutorial video, and the Facebook Android tutorial.
