Global Cloud Xchange (GCX) today announced the launch of its high performance Cloud X platform to offer enterprise-class Cloud services, applications and content across the company’s privately owned global fiber optic network.
Cloud X is uniquely designed to deliver not only infrastructure provisioning in a few clicks, but the deployment of complex multi-tiered enterprise applications directly on to customer’s enterprise networks in minutes, rather than months. The Cloud X platform supports network transparency — a key element in accelerating enterprise applications to the Cloud.

The new Cloud X platform will provide an industrialized Cloud distribution capability in the markets that are expected to see the biggest growth in Internet usage and content consumption over the next decade. In particular, the “Emerging Market Corridor” spanning across Europe, the Middle East and Asia where GCX has extensive network coverage.
GCX’s new platform consists primarily of two key components — first a global integrated network which supports “cloud nodes” that serve up cloud services. Secondly, the transformation of 20+ facilities by mid 2015 into “cloud nodes” aligned with an automated orchestration layer.

Today, GCX’s infrastructure includes subsea cables and MPLS/IP networks which crisscross the majority of the world’s continents.
