Kainan Universitry recently announced the incorporation into its cloud information system Cisco Systems Inc.’s solutions, including cloud & system management, collaboration, webex and security.

Information Technology operators of Kainan University have recently been optimizing the power of cloud computing for the university and finally chose Cisco’s solution after a series of rigorous assessments.

IT infrastructure is built on four aspects: computing, storage, Internet and security. Cisco’s solutions stood out from the crowd because they meet selection standards including functions, efficacy, reliability, privacy and ease-of-use, Kainan University information technology chief Eugene Yeh said.

Yeh indicated that virtualization of Kainan University’s servers was the first-completed project. “Nearly all application programs including email, school affairs and official document systems as well as the school’s website have now been running smoothly on Cisco Unified Computing Systems.”

Cisco’s FCoE technology not only integrates old and new storage systems but also largely simplifies storage infrastructure and the management platform, Yeh said.

A Cisco Taiwan higher executive said Kainan University’s cloud-computing optimization project not only enlisted the help of Cisco’s partners such as Tatung System Technology Inc., Ring Line Corp., Topn Network Technology and Syscom Group, but also flexed Cisco’s multinational muscles by enlisting the help of Cisco’s teams in Singapore and China.
